Recs for the Big Threes of Rec Leaguers

A book, a film and an album recommendation for all (pray for me) 1700+ big three combos out there. I'm trying my best to not recommend something overwhelmingly obvious or popular and also providing backup recs in case the primary is already well known and loved (or hated I suppose).
