As someone who probably overvalues falafel as one of the great foods ever made, I am coming from a bit of a biased place. That being said, giving a measly 7.5, to what they acknowledge to be can't miss falafel seems off to me. This place has been around for well over four decades and is as outstanding as ever.
Of course, don't go expecting some elevated Dune nonsense (adore Dune but you know what I mean) — this is as straightforward of an affair as you can imagine. This is an almost pitch perfect recreation of the extremely well known Arax in Beirut. These falafel are lightweight, not so herby, consistent and shatter crisp.
Highlights:
-Shawarma is considerably better than it needs to be
-Great tahini sauce
-It is next door to one of my favorite restaurants in the world
Lowlights:
-I don't think a single interior improvement has been made since the day they opened.
-Not my favorite plaza/corner of town.
-Would kill for a pita upgrade
