This song is less of a feature and more of a character in and of itself — a theme for our lead. It soundtracks the opening sequence, where the dude is pondering the idea of taking retaliatory action for crimes committed to his rug and then again, when he meets Maude for the first time, and is (literally) hit over the head with the consequences of said action.
"The man in me will do nearly any task, and as for compensation, there’s little he would ask." is the dude in summation. “Takes a woman like you to get through to the man in me.” as unique as anyone, Maude sets him on a truer path. “The man in me will hide sometimes to keep from being seen, but that’s just because he doesn’t want to turn into some machine.” if that is not the man's ethos I don't know what is.
Honorable mention to Jesus' intro to a "Hotel California" cover, the "Lookin' Out My Backdoor" dropped roach car crash, and "Just Dropped In" which soundtracks my favorite sequence in the film.
