Both of our books here are gooey Cancer centers shrouded by that Capricorn discipline.
Book: Brooklyn by Colm Tóibín
Tenderness, duty, and the ache of becoming an adult.
Book 2: Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
Devotion, restraint, emotional repression and quiet longing.
Film: The Piano
Severe, sensual, haunted, emotionally withheld but overwhelmingly feeling. It has that Cancer depth with Capricorn austerity and control.
Film 2: The Age of Innocence
Emotional intensity under social restraint. Cancer longing, Capricorn rules.
Album: Nick Drake — Pink Moon
I was tempted to pick either of his first two, generally less appreciated albums but the reality is that, thought they come close, they don't nail that tender and deeply inward Cancer sensitivity performed with Capricorn restraint the way Pink Moon does.
Album 2: Nina Simone — Pastel Blues
So soulful, so dignified, and so emotionally immense without ever once losing control.
