If you visited today, it would be hard to imagine that about ten years ago boing boing was anything other than an absolute cringeworthy, AI-fueled boomer shitshow.
In fact, it used to be one of the only places online where you could find a well-informed, thoughtful discussion of events in a well-moderated forum. Unfortunately a storm of ills swirled together to enshittify (a term the blog itself created) the whole situation. What used to be a place to find "wonderful things" — a thoughtful mix of politics, tech, weird news, and internet culture — largely lost its mojo due to, at least from my perspective, Reddit. Of course now that Reddit is also lost in the woods, so my money is on rec league to takeover the internet culture HQ title.
