MeMe's Diner (657 Washington Ave, Brooklyn)

Another heartbreaking covid loss, MeMe's was on a red hot run for three years before shuttering. Obviously prospect heights had its own thing going on for a while before they opened, but it does feel like an inciting moment that led to a huge wave of openings, interest and people relocating to the immediate area.

This place was so fun and a real queer community icon. They had a mixed cereal 'bread service', an incredible buffalo chicken salad, champagne jello and so many other uniquely jazzed up comfort foods.
