I'll admit this is on the cusp of being too obvious to include but good lord did this hit me like a sack of bricks as a ten year old watching for the first time. Sobbed. Tear up every time since.
There is something so unique about the longing portrayed in the shot. Not wholly romantic, not wholly familial. Something that occupies the space between, which of course could not be more appropriate for the two characters highlighted here.
