The Glow Pt. 2 by The Microphones (2001)

Released on September 11th 2001, Phil Elverum's hushed, lo-fi gold standard was inspired by fire, the Pacific Northwest and the often harsh atmosphere of extreme metal, ambient and avant-garde music. The Glow Pt. 2 makes good on the clichéd promise of hearing new things on each listen — its composition is nothing short of genius that can only be appreciated through those subsequent listenings (on headphones of course!).
